14″ x 11″ oil on cradled wood panel 2020 by Julianna Paradisi
Yesterday, I finished this painting, Self Portrait With Mask. I made it with oil paint on a wood panel.
The scarf depicted in this painting is one I wore when I underwent chemotherapy for cancer, 20+ years ago. I wore it wrapped around my head, turban style, with dangly earrings. Now I can wrap it around my face to ward off a new disease, COVID 19. It reminds me I have been through difficult times before; to center on my inner resiliency.
