Art in The Time of COVID-19: Nature Journaling and Masks

Nature Journal Entry: Mushrooms
Ink and watercolor on paper 2020 by Julianna Paradisi

This entry in my nature journal was drawn from life, while wearing a mask, alone, outdoors. As a nurse, I’m used to performing critical, and highly technical tasks for up to 12 hours at a time, wearing masks. It was important to do so to protect my health and the health of my patients, so I did it. It’s like anything else, you get used to it. It’s a small thing everyone can do to protect our communities from the spread of COVID-19.
